Submitted by andrea chiu: What I really enjoyed about this drawing of plant cutters was the artists use of hatching and loose lines to draw out the object. It is nice to be able to see the under drawings and guide lines for each of the parts and details of the shears and his light use of shading to slightly suggest change in material. Like most of the drawings that I have made, this piece does not have a vignette or anything of that nature to anchor it to the page, but I think that it could use one if it was ever intended to be used in a design proposal. Altogether I just really like how it is a refined drawing that still retains a sketch-like quality
